Giving back
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ" Colossians 3:23-24
Every time you purchase an item from our store, a percentage of the order goes to one or more of the charities we are actively supporting with our money, time and energy.
We do not like boasting in our good deeds, but since each of your order contributes directly to a few charities, we have decided to present them, so you know where your money go to:
In December 2017 we have started an initiative called Homeless Outreach in Prague. We organised and participated in the Homeless Outreach events every week, along with other volunteers. We provided food, clothing and hygiene products to 50-100 people each Saturday, from our own finances, with no support from any "umbrella" organisation, until November 2019 when we moved to the UK.
We are also supporting financially a few individuals who come from abusive and/or dysfunctional families.
Throughout our married years, we have adopted 3 dogs and fostered 1 (so far), each from a different country. We stayed in touch with and became sponsors of the shelters each of them comes from.
Ava comes from the streets of Romania and we have adopted her through Love Underdogs, a shelter that rescues stray dogs and brings them to England, where they have greater chances of being adopted.
Lulu does not come from a shelter; she was an unasked for gift and their owners were giving her away via a website similar to Craigslist.
We met Masha (Marshamllow) and her little brother Haribo while volunteering at a shelter outside of Prague. Handipet Rescue is a shelter for abused, disabled, sick, or abandoned dogs and cats. Her brother was already reserved for adoption, but this little one came home with us!
Shortly after adopting Masha, we had the chance to foster Foxie for a few weeks as she was recovering from a surgery to her legs and was going through chemotherapy. Foxie was rescued from the streets of Ukraine, along with her puppies, by Handipet Rescue. During her stay in our home, someone in our family has decided to adopt her and she is now happily settled in her new home.
Handipet Rescue is a charity that we support with our hearts and finances, so please visit their website if you wish to virtually adopt a sick dog or cat!
Your purchases are directly contributing to all the above charities and a few individual cases. If you want to further support any of the charities above, click on the links and find out how you can help.
